Getting your look ready for blustery days is as easy as 1, 2, 3! First, pick a base, then add a layer, and finally, top it off with—you guessed it—another layer! Repeat step three as needed, and by “needed,” we mean as many times as your heart desires. The best part about getting dressed for winter is that your ensembles can (and should!) build upon the very styles and looks you’ve been perfecting and rocking during these autumn months. Start with a cardi or cape, add a scarf and a hat, stack them, and get ready to own the frigid days ahead. Ok, fine, it’s a little tougher than that! After all, you need to layer pieces that will play nicely together. So, we called in the experts—two bloggers who have looks we’ve been obsessing over—and asked them to assemble one outfit, sharing a few of their most coveted style tips for each.
Get the Look: Abbey Road Cardigan, Finale Blouse, Dover Skinny, Carnaby Loafer, Bon Vivant Necklace
Here in Southern California, it’s chilly in the morning and hot by noon, so light layers are a must! The Finale Blouse is stunning on its own (love the tie tassel detailing!), but looks amazing paired with the Abbey Road Cardigan. And the printed velvet Carnaby Loafer tie both pieces together perfectly. Everyone needs a little velvet in their wardrobe this season! Lastly, throw on your favorite gold cabi accessories and the Dover Skinny and you have yourself a California-cool look!
Get the Look: Hoodie Playsuit, Cathedral Cardigan
When layering, I like to keep it neutral so one color doesn’t steal the show. The Cathedral Cardigan is perfect to throw on over anything because of its neutral color and wide sleeves—perfect for layering over thicker sweaters. For me, the whole point of a layered look is to be cozy, yet comfortable, and prepared for the changing fall temperatures. I absolutely love the look of the Cathedral Cardigan layered over the Hoodie Playsuit! Both pieces are super comfortable and make the perfect cozy pair for fall. It’s a put-together casual look that’s perfect for your favorite fall activities—like those Pumpkin Spice Latte runs!a-cool look!
