With Thanksgiving around the corner, it’s a great time to start thinking about the things we’re grateful for. Maybe it’s your new job, coming home to a meal cooked for you by your loved one, that stranger who held a door for you, or that barista who complimented your jacket. There are so many reasons to be grateful, and it’s great practice to regularly consider what those things are.
We decided to interview some members of the cabi Home Office Team to find out what they’re thankful for this year. And, in light of our Fall 2019 Campaign, we asked them to share something that makes them unique because we never get tired of hearing people’s stories and celebrating diversity! Read the interviews below to learn more about what cabi team members are grateful for this season.
What makes you unique?
I have an incredible sense of smell—my husband and kids call me “Stella the Smeller!”
What do you love about working at cabi?
Without question, the people. The strong friendships I’ve made and the wisdom, knowledge, and talent of everyone at the cabi Home Office is humbling, and I’m constantly learning from them.
What are you thankful for this year?
After two years of living apart because of my husband’s work, we’re back under one roof as a family (and we got a new puppy!).
What makes you unique?
I really enjoy stretching myself in areas that are uncomfortable, and I constantly like to shake things up! Whether that’s reading a new book, listening to a public speaker who makes me think differently, or trying activities I’ve never tried before.
What do you love about working at cabi?
I love supporting Stylists who leverage their cabi business to make a difference in their communities, while also providing for their families.
What are you thankful for this year?
In the last year, we bought out first home, had a baby girl, and got a puppy. It’s been so much fun watching my family grow!
What makes you unique?
I’ve been told I have a huge personality in a small package. And I’m more than happy to give people directions even though I don’t know my left from my right!
What do you love about working at cabi?
The freedom to think big, act fast, and make mistakes without consequence.
What are you thankful for this year?
I’m thankful I’ve fully recovered from my foot surgery and can now get my foot into any pair of shoes I desire! Oh the joy of shoes—one can never have enough!
What makes you unique?
I can control chaos in all forms. Whether it’s organizing the thoughts that are in Daniele’s head and making them come to life or wrangling my two kids, hubby, dog, tortoise, and elder parents.
What do you love about working at cabi?
I absolutely love the sense of family that exists at the cabi Home Office. I always feel supported and celebrated in everything I do.
What are you thankful for this year?
The health and strength of my family and friends.
What makes you unique?
I’m a fifth generation American and full Japanese. My daughter is half Japanese and has blue eyes.
What do you love about working at cabi?
I’m an analytic numbers person—my C-me Colour Profile is very blue! At cabi, I’m able to partner with others of different colors, and we help bring out the best in each other.
What are you thankful for this year?
My daughter who’s almost two and into everything! She keeps me on my toes, but I’m so thankful for her curiosity and her smile that lights up my world.
What makes you unique?
I grew up in the South West, East Coast, and West Coast of the U.S., so I have a smattering of regional influences within me.
What do you love about working at cabi?
Topping the list is the incredible people—they’re fun, loving, full of character and integrity, hard-working, humble, and creative. Cabi’s culture is a beautiful mix of both high-support and high-challenge, which means we’re accomplishing great things while having each other’s backs. Additionally, cabi deeply benefits the lives of so many women around the globe—it’s a privilege to contribute to that impact.
What are you thankful for this year?
I’m thankful for my incredible husband who serves our family selflessly every day in ways big and small. And so thankful he’s become open to the possibility of someday, maybe, somehow getting a dog!
Let’s take it one step further…how can we help make space for more gratitude in the world? Something you say or do can be someone else’s cause for thanks. Small acts of kindness go a long way, so as you think about the things you’re thankful for, start thinking about how you can contribute to someone else’s gratitude. Not only will it feel good to do (yes, being selfish here is actually a good thing!), but you’ll be spreading generosity and helping others get into the spirit of Thanksgiving. With that in mind, we want to know what you’re thankful for this year—share your thoughts in the comments below!
