Scary isn’t really our thing, but you know what is? Dressing up (and also, candy of course…)! Halloween is such a fun holiday to celebrate, especially if you’re a fashionista. Let’s be real—making your own costume can be so much fun, and it doesn’t have to be super-duper involved. Getting creative and whipping something together in your closet will always be cuter than a store-bought costume. Plus, this way, it’s sure to be one-of-a-kind!
We asked a very special someone to weigh in on creative Halloween costumes for the upcoming holiday: Carrie Ellis. Carrie is our Pattern Maker Manager here at the Home Office, but more importantly, she’s the “Halloween Queen.” Carrie is the reigning champion of our cabi Home Office Halloween costume contest. So, we asked her to create three adorable Halloween costumes that anyone can easily pull together from the Fall 2020 Collection with the addition of a few props and accessories. Tree or Shrub
Featured Item: Solace Dress
Materials Used: Green Tights, Artificial Leaves, Leaf Headdress
When we think of fall, we think of nature. Channel your inner autumn and go as a tree or shrub by wearing the Solace Dress, a cozy heather green. Grab some artificial leaves to create a belt or a necklace. Finish off your look with a glamorous leaf headdress.
Cow Girl
Featured Items: Rebel Shirt, Cinch Skinny, Stud Belt, Hat, Boots
Nothing beats taking a casual Sunday outfit, adding a hat and boots, and calling yourself a cow girl! Easy as one, two, three…and still far more creative than what some others are wearing! Reach for the Rebel Shirt and style it with the Cinch Skinny. A cowboy hat and boots will complete your look and you’re ready to go. Yee haw!
Cruella De Vil
Featured Items: Houndstooth Jacket, Portrait Blouse, Houndstooth Trousers
We all know that Cruella De Vil is one of the most stylish villains of all time. We’re happy to say that this costume is 100% Dalmatian-free, although it’s got plenty of Houndstooth! Style this black and white outfit with bright pops of red with some fashionable accessories.
