We’re back at it today with our Fan Spotlight series. We just love featuring our fans and getting to know a little bit more about the inspiring women who are a part of the cabi community. We interviewed Angie Borden, one of the founding members of the Instagram page called @cabi.addicts. It’s one of our personal favorite accounts—you can probably guess why! Angie hails from Ruston, a small town in north Louisiana, known for its peaches (yum!). She’s a wife, mom, home-chef, amateur decorator, teacher, and of course, fashion lover.
She first discovered cabi through one of her friends and thought, “Shopping + girlfriends + snacks + wine…that’s my kind of night!” You’re not alone, Angie! She’s found that cabi clothing transcends age, allowing herself, her teenage daughter, and her retired mother to sport the pieces with their own personal touches. But that’s enough about us, we wanted to get to know her more personally, like what her favorite movies are and how she takes her coffee in the morning. Where are you from?
Ruston, the sweetest little north Louisiana town, known for its peaches, and home to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs! I grew up about 30 minutes north of Ruston and that’s where most of my family is…farm country, wide open spaces, and lots of fresh air. I’ll always be a country girl at heart.
What’s your favorite Fall ’20 piece?
I love the Travel Cardigan. Green is my favorite color and it’s incredibly cozy, so it’s kind of perfect. I’m most comfortable in a fabulous T-shirt, a great sweater, jeans, and booties.
Coffee or Tea?
Coffee with cream and sugar.
What’s your favorite beauty product?
Laila perfume–I’ve worn it consistently for 25 years. I’ve also recently discovered Olive & June nail polish, and I’m a big fan!
How were you introduced to cabi?
The mom of a former student invited me to a show. When she said, “really cute clothes + snacks + wine + girlfriends,” I knew it was the place for me!
What do you love most about cabi?
I love how pieces I bought years ago pair perfectly with newer pieces—cabi is brilliant! Also, I love that my 19 year-old daughter, my retired mom, and I can all wear the same piece with our own unique spin and feel totally confident. Cabi transcends age.
What do you do to relax?
I’m happiest and most relaxed when all of our grown kids are able to be together—we love to cook, play games, and travel. Being a wife and mama is my greatest joy. I also love spending time in the #cabiaddicts Instagram and Facebook communities where I serve (alongside some of my dearest friends) as an admin. Being a part of women uplifting other women every day, paired with beautiful clothes and fashion tips, is right up there on my list of favorite things to do.
What’s your favorite movie?
The American President—it’s the sweetest love story.
What do you always need in your handbag?
MAC Matte Lipstick in Honeylove (it’s the perfect neutral!) and a great pair of readers.
What books have you been reading lately?
The Road Back to You—I’ve become obsessed with learning about the Enneagram (hello fellow 9s!). I’m also a huge Nicholas Sparks fan.
